Since the 2000s, Africa has seen massive economic growth, and it is the second fastest-growing continent on the planet. What people know about it has changed remarkably in just 10 to 15 years.

The Economist magazine had a cover page in the year 2000 that stated that Africa was a hopeless continent. Ten years later, the same magazine wrote another article where they mentioned how there’s less war and poverty and how Africa has a chance to follow in the footsteps of Asia.

This change has created enormous opportunities for professionals from this country and all around the world, especially for software engineers. The number of software engineers has increased significantly in the past few years. A recent survey has disclosed that “the total number of developers in Africa is currently 716,000”, and this number is increasing every day.

With a 22% rise in internet use by startups and small and medium-sized businesses, the software development field has gained more prominence and created massive opportunities for many. It is one of the best markets for software engineers, and we have seen a lot of innovation and inspiring ideas that have had great success, and this is just the beginning.
