A beautiful city with flashing lights, one-of-a-kind shopping, friendly people, and exotic foods. A calm breezy oasis with soothing waves and water, oh yeah……. and the coconut with the straw of course. An earthy spread of nature’s finest with safaris and amazing wildlife.
Wherever you choose to unwind, vacations are just as important as the hard work that earned us the break. A place to revamp, clear your mind, and leave in an even better state than you came – ready to take on new challenges and full of brand new ideas. Vacations are vital!
So, I have always left a vacation spot thinking the same 2 things:
The truth is, like many other things in life, you appreciate them more when you don’t live there. For now, that explanation calms my thoughts of permanently living somewhere I get to experience every so often. The memory of my trip can soothe my mind when I need a quick mental unwinding.
Africa has a stash of beautiful places to vacation – no need to go thousands of miles away. This made me realize something…living in Africa, I AM living close to these vacation spots!! So here are some great vacation spots to try in West, East, South, and North Africa.

Beautiful Hermanus is a South African seaside town that’s a popular whale-watching site. An initial visit to the Old Harbour Museum will acquaint you with the area’s rich fishing history and impress you with a massive whale skeleton exhibit. With dozens of area vineyards, Hermanus is an excellent base for a guided wine-tasting tour.
The tiny Moroccan town of Ouarzazate is a caramel-colored oasis set against a clear blue African sky. Be inspired by a beautifully preserved Kasbah that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, or walk in the starry path of celebrities by taking a tour of one of Ouarzazate’s two movie studios. Tour the surrounding dunes on camel-back, or simply bask in the quiet bustle of the bargaining sessions at local markets.
Victoria Falls, also called “the Cloud that Thunders” is one of the world’s most majestic water spectacles. Since reportedly first seen in 1855, thousands have enjoyed the spray from the 108-meter high cascade, which was once recorded flowing at 12,800 cubic meters per second — double that of Niagara’s highest flow.
Get a true feel of the African Beach experience at Axim Beach in West Africa, Ghana. Landing a spot as the 10th friendliest country in the world by Forbes (and the only African country to make the cut) makes Ghana a preferred tourist site on its own.
