My Profile

I’m Betty Kumahor, a systems thinker, advisor, and technologist with a passion for transformation across Africa and globally. My work focuses on building inclusive digital ecosystems, advising institutions on policy and strategy, and leading change that reaches beyond organizations into communities and countries.

Professional Background

Over the last two decades, I’ve co-founded and led several major initiatives shaping Africa’s digital and social infrastructure. As Managing Partner of Cobalt Partners, I advise governments, corporations, and non-profits on systemic transformation—from digital identity systems to revenue modernization. I co-founded innovation hubs like Tshimologong and Tech-in-Bram, and helped establish Ghana Women in IT to support women in technology leadership. I serve as a board member at FSDH Group, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and a Global Advisory Board Member. I’ve judged international awards such as the Global Teacher Prize and World’s Best Schools, and have spoken for global leadership programs at EY, KPMG, and the University of Ghana. I also founded the Africa Emergency Technology Response Forum (AETRF), uniting tech leaders to respond to urgent regional challenges. My work extends into policy as a spokesperson for Ghana’s National Broadband Policy, advisor to the Ministry of Communications, GASSCOM, and the National Identification Authority (NIA), where I helped implement large-scale systems like the FIMS project and advised the Ghana Revenue Authority and Registrar General’s Department on tax technology modernization.
